[ ABOUT ]

We run small liveaboard voyages that mix sailing, diving and the rhythm of life at sea. In groups of no more than 4 guests on any voyage.

We choose the best course the conditions, the boat and the crew allow, and support everyone on board in taking part at a level that fits their interest and experience.

Life on board is about working together: sharing the helm, trimming sails, sharing meals, planning dives, hunting lionfish and keeping our balance.

Each day settles into its own pattern of passages, dives, rest and shared meals. No two voyages are the same.

[ A DAY ON BOARD ]

Wake up. Go for an early-morning swim or walk, or make a quiet cup of coffee.

Share breakfast, check the forecast, set our course and sail for a few hours.

We drop anchor for lunch and time in the water: swimming, snorkelling or, if your voyage includes it, a dive.

Then we take the tender ashore for a simple sunset dinner and head back aboard, sun-tired and ready for your berth.

The Day Passage

The Day Passage gives you a full day on the water, handling lines and taking the helm.

We stay within coastal waters and set a course based on weather, time and your comfort.

There is time to sail, anchor, snorkel and, if your booking includes it, go for a dive.

You get a little hands-on sailing experience and a clear sense of life at sea without the commitment of an overnight.

The Coastal Voyage

A three-day liveaboard on Nayru for people who are looking for a short and sweet adventure.

We sail Barbados’ sheltered west coast, mixing light sailing with time at anchor for swimming and snorkelling.

If your voyage includes diving, we plan a small number of relaxed, guided dives into the outline of the trip.

You are encouraged to take the helm, trim sails and read the water at an easy pace, with just enough time to feel the rhythm of life aboard.

Five days to learn what the boat can do and what you can do with it.

We usually start on the protected west coast to give smooth reaching and simple sailing while everyone settles in.

We anchor where conditions allow, with snorkelling and swimming and, if your booking includes diving, time to explore some of the better dive spots on the island.

Then we head south for some upwind sailing; tacking, trimming and learning how it feels to sail closer to the wind, followed by an easier downwind run back toward Carlisle Bay with the wind, current and sea working with us.

By the end you start to feel it all at once: the tension in the sails, the angle of heel, the pressure on the rudder. Your hands know what to do before you think.

The Island Voyage

Seven days aboard gives enough time to settle into the rhythm of sea life.

We sail along the south and west coasts and, if conditions allow, up toward the north where you share more of the coastline with working boats than tour boats.

We sail further, anchor in quieter spots and, if your voyage includes diving, spend time in places fewer people see.

A week is long enough for the boat to feel familiar and for everyone aboard to move well together.

Horizon Voyage

THE WINDWARD ISLANDS 2026

The Horizon Voyage

Uncharted
10 Days/9 Nights

This is the flagship voyage. Ten days where time aboard feels close to how people actually live at sea.

We may cross between islands or stay within a smaller area, working with weather windows. You live aboard Nayru the entire time, sharing shorter hops between nearby islands or making a longer blue water passage, always choosing the best course the boat, crew and conditions allow.

We take turns keeping watch, share the tasks of life at sea and, if your booking includes diving, choose our dives with the same respect for weather and timing.

No two Horizon Voyages are the same.

You’ll come back with calloused hands, sun-kissed skin and a clear sense of why people choose this lifestyle, and whether it fits you.

Your Skipper

[ YOUR SKIPPER ]

Logan grew up in Barbados with the sea always close.

In 2023 he gained his sailing qualifications in Grenada.

In 2024 he bought Nayru, refitted her in Trinidad, and sailed her home.

In 2025 he became a Scuba Instructor, and started SailDeep to share the kind of days that make sense to him: time at sea, movement, good conversation, and exploration.

Common Questions

  • No. You don’t need any sailing experience to join a voyage.

You do need to be reasonably fit, steady on your feet and willing to take part in simple tasks on deck and around the boat. We’ll show you what to do and keep things within your ability.

For longer trips like the Horizon Voyage, we’ll talk through your experience and comfort level in more detail before confirming a booking.

  • No. Our voyages are sailing-focused and you don’t need to be a diver to join us. You do need to be comfortable in the water and able to swim, however.

Diving is an optional add-on you choose at booking. If you want to dive, you’ll need proof of certification (or to join an agreed course or refresher), complete the diving medical questions honestly, and have travel insurance that covers scuba diving.

If you would like to dive, but have no experience or certification we can arrange for you to do a Discover Scuba Diving short course.

  • We accept no more than a maximum of 4 guests on board for any voyage.

  • What’s included depends on the voyage you choose. Please check our inclusions page for details: Inclusions Page Link

  • First you’ll fill out our application form, then we’ll arrange a short call to discuss the details and answer any questions you might have. Once we’re agreed it’s a good fit then we require a deposit to confirm your spot

  • Weather is one of the main things we work around, and sometimes it alters the plan. If conditions change, we may adjust routes, timings, anchorages or activities for safety and practicality.

We can’t guarantee specific destinations or dive sites, and weather-related changes don’t qualify for refunds or compensation.

For full details, please see our Terms and Conditions.

  • We don’t book or manage flights, hotels or transfers for guests. You’re responsible for your own travel to and from our meeting point, and for any accommodation ashore.

We will clearly state when and where to meet the boat, give realistic arrival and departure windows, and can share local pointers, but we aren’t liable for delays, missed connections or changes to your travel plans.

  • Yes. All guests must be 18 or older, reasonably fit and steady on their feet.

You need to be able to move around a moving boat, step in and out of the tender and take part in simple tasks on deck and below.

If you have medical issues or injuries, tell us on the application form so we can discuss what type of trip is ideal for you.

  • Yes. For safety, all guests must be comfortable in the water and be able to swim unassisted.

This applies even if you don’t plan to dive or snorkel

If you’re not able to swim, a SailDeep voyage is not the right fit.

  • Yes. Travel and medical insurance is required for all guests.

If you are diving, your cover must include scuba diving to the depths and activities you plan to do.

You’ll confirm this as part of the booking process.

  • Not necessarily. Nayru is a 36 foot boat with two cabins, and a salon berth (meaning the seating in the salon converts into a bed).

Depending on your booking, you may share a cabin or space with another guest of the same sex or with your travel partner.

Exact sleeping arrangements are agreed in advance before you confirm.

  • There is Starlink and 12V/230V power on board, but both are limited and managed carefully.

Everyone is welcome to charge phones and small devices, but there are only so many charging points available.

Wi-Fi is normally available near shore during the day, not guaranteed offshore, and turned off at night to conserve power.

We can discuss your data needs and perhaps suggest an eSim data carrier that will work for you if your needs go beyond what we can reliably provide.

  • Alcohol is allowed in moderation once the boat is secured and all sailing and in-water activities for the day are finished.

No drinking before or during sailing, snorkelling or diving.

Smoking and vaping are never allowed inside the cabin. If you smoke, you’ll need to do so on the leeward side on-deck, use an ash receptacle to avoid burns or damage to the boat.

Illegal drugs are not permitted on board under any circumstances.

According to current Barbadian law, marijuana is still illegal for recreational use. It has not been legalised.

  • Our cancellation and refund rules depend on how far in advance you cancel and are set out in detail in our Terms and Conditions.

In general, deposits are non-refundable and late cancellations may mean you lose more of the trip cost.

Weather-related changes do not qualify for refunds or compensation.

Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully before you pay a deposit.
